Harmonic resonator Coming soon

Lacuna

Six tuned resonances that answer your sound in the space it leaves.

Feed it a drum loop, a pluck or a voice. Six resonators tuned to a chord take their energy from it and ring. Gap keeps them out of the way while the source plays, Bloom sets how gently they return, and Ripple lets the six voices enter one after another, so a hit gets a short harmonic reply.

What it does

01 Resonators

Six voices, tuned

Six resonators ring at the pitches of a chord: fifths, minor or major ninth, suspended, or the exact harmonic series. Set the root on the panel, or play it: a held MIDI note moves it, and the last note held wins.

02 Gap & Bloom

Room for the source

Gap pulls the response down while the source is loud, so the hit stays clear. Bloom sets how the answer returns once the sound falls away, from twenty milliseconds to more than a second.

03 Ripple

An answer in turn

After each hit the six voices can enter one after another instead of all at once. At full Ripple they arrive a sixteenth note apart, at the host's tempo.

04 Hold & Strike

Keep a moment

Hold stops new sound from exciting the resonators and sustains what is ringing, for as long as you leave it on. Strike sends one short burst, to hear a chord or a decay without routing any audio.

05 Follow

In Cadence's key

With Follow on, Lacuna tracks the key Cadence is playing on the same computer, inside Cadence or in another host. The root moves to the key, and the ninth voicings turn major or minor with it. When the feed stops, the last key holds.

06 Clean

Nothing added

No oscillator and no noise in the signal path: silence in is silence out. Zero latency, the same level from 44.1 to 192 kHz, and a display of the input, the response and each voice as it rings.
