Terra

A standalone granular sampler. Terra records a few seconds of audio into a buffer and plays it back as overlapping grains, steered by an on-panel XY field — read position on one axis, grain pitch on the other. Six voices spread around that point for thick, gestural textures. Released as a standalone experiment outside the main module families.

What it is

Six grain voices share a stereo 8-second buffer fed from the audio input; FREEZE captures the buffer so you can scrub a held sound. The XY field sets the center of the playback — X is read position, Y is grain pitch (±12 semitones) — while the POSITION and PITCH knobs (with X-CV / Y-CV) move it. SPREAD distributes the voices on a ring around that point and SCATTER randomizes each grain.

DENSITY (1–100 grains/sec), SIZE (1–500 ms), SHAPE (Hann to rectangular), JITTER, and FEEDBACK shape the grain cloud, and V/OCT transposes the whole field. Outputs are a stereo mix plus a polyphonic out carrying one voice per channel for downstream processing. Terra is on the experimental track, so its panel and docs are still settling.
